Hi! Sorry, i just noticed that it's been 4 whole days since my last post....what AM I thinking?? Things here have been pretty eventful (needless to say). Charlie is growing everyday...we're being weighed today, so I'll let you know just how much he's grown after our appt...but we seem to notice him changing daily! Nana MaryAnne and Grandpa Vance arrive in one week and Charlie can't wait to meet them (I'm sure the feeling is VERY mutual!!!) Charlie said happy birthday to Grandpa Vance today on the telephone with a few grunts and a big burp!!! I could hear Vance giggling all the way out here on the West Coast. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Here's Charlie in his sweat suit! Yesterday we went downtown for lunch and a stroll to "blow the stink off us" (as Grampy Leslie always says). It was a bit cool, so he was all dressed for the great outdoors! He got many "ooo's" and "awe's" everywhere we went!

Here is a photo of the beautiful quilt that Joan Taylor made for Charlie and sent out all the way from New Brunswick. We spend lots of "tummy time" on it and it's great for afternoon naps in the sunshine! Thanks Joan!

One More! I know, I know...this is what David calls "overkill" but sometimes I just can't resist! Here is one more photo of Charlie in orange. This one was just too cute to pass up. He's lying on his blanket that I made with my sister Bev when she was here visitting a couple weeks ago. They were a project that we did with the kids at VBS this summer...several blankets were made (well, all you really had to do was tie the ends together all the way around - pretty straight forward!!!) and shipped to underprivileged children in south america. They say "Jesus loves me" and "Jesus me ama". So, we bought one for Charlie to have here. Thanks to Auntie Bev for helping make it!!! This will be my last "orange" post for the day!!! Maybe...it is only 1:30 here!

1 Week old!!! Charlie writes: It's officially my 1 week birthday today and all is well. Today was actually supposed to be my arrival date into this world; however, I couldn't wait any longer and neither could Mom and Dad - they are pretty excited I'm here! Grammy is also here to help out, but I'm being so good she says she feels like she's on a vacation and getting caught up on rest....Mom thinks I may be tricking her too!!! Here are a few photos taken this morning that I thought you might all enjoy!
Here I am in my swing that Mom got while "yard saling" with my Auntie Bev a couple of weeks ago. It's quite comfy! It has music, lights, toys AND it rocks me to sleep. This is only the 2nd time I've been in it, but I think I'm going to like it alot! It's great to be able to sit at (ON) the table with Mom and Dad while they have their Saturday morning breakfast! They say that it's important to eat together as a family....I guess we'd better start early!

Here's where I will educate you all on current fashion trends....you see, Orange is the NEW Black! Man, do I look good in orange...just like my Dad (you can see he's sporting a great shade of it in the background!) It seems that my great Auntie Nancy keeps up with the trends as well, as she sent me this little outfit from all the way across the country! Thanks Nancy!

Here I am with my Dad getting lots of kisses and LOVIN' IT!!! It's one of my favorite things to do. We were just getting ready to head down to watch some sports desk on the tele (another of my favorite things to do with Dad!)

This photo Mom took yesterday just as I was waking up from one of our afternoon naps. Sometimes I'm a bit grouchy when Mom wakes me, but as long as there's food immediately, I'm pretty cool about everything!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

TGIF!!!! Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hello and let you know what we've been up to this week....can't believe it's Friday already....day 6 of our new "adventure" in life with Charlie. Yesterday we had a check up with the public health nurse to see if everything was going OK and to weigh Charlie to see how he's progressing; well....let's just say that once she put him on the scales she pretty much just ran us out of there telling us she has NO worries...he'd gained 7 ozs in 2 days and was back up over his birthweight!!!!! He's sooo advanced - hee!hee! So, just 5 days after birth he's back to 8lbs 6.6ozs. Apparantly he's eating well, which doesn't surprise me as it seems every 15 minutes David's saying "mommy, it's time to eat - the boy's not going to be 6'4" if he doesn't eat!" Then we took him on a little visit to my work and showed him off there - he was well received - of course, he's just way too cute! Last night he slept for 7 hours with only a 30 minute feeding break between - I keep asking him if he's tricking us???

This is his first bath at home photo....he wanted to hold the washcloth, not me! We have a great little "tummy tub" that works wonders! It's like a big "salad bowl" (as his auntie Aly called it) and it's supposed to make babies feel like they're in the womb so they relax more....it worked!!! He settled right in, we got him all cleaned up, wrapped up in one of those cute little hooded towels and then....pffff - he decided to poop! He has impeccable timing!!!

Here we are having an afternoon nap. He's got a favorite blanket already (thanks to Esther and Al!!!) you can see it here....VERY soft with little puppies on it!!!! Sometimes he's just way to adorable to put in his crib and so....well, you know....here we are! I've read that you just CAN'T spoil them in the first few months! David said yesterday: "I think God makes them smell so good so you'll love them more." I agreed! He is truely a little angel and we both feel very blessed.

Day 4 of my life!

Charlie writes.....Hello everyone! thought i would post a few shots of my day today as it was quite eventfull!!! First, I went to work with Dad! He said he had to go to the office for a bit to pick up a few things and it would give mom a rest, so off we went after breakfast! Apparantly I met lots of nice people who were very happy to see me; however, Dad wouldn't let anyone take me out of my seat so I just slept....he was a bit afraid that if I woke up hungry he'd be in big trouble as food was sleeping at home!!! Anyway, we were only gone about 1.5 hours and made it back safe and sound (without the things Dad went to the office to pick up....guess he was a little excited about showing me off!!!) Then, this afternoon I got to go to the grocery store with Mommy and Grammy....again, I slept through it all, but I think it was really fun and they bought me a couple of things to sleep in!!!

Here I am in one of my favorite places...on the pillow with a full belly! Aren't I just the cutest thing you've ever seen???

Just thought I would show off some of my duds! This is my nice red Radio Flyer outfit I wore to pick Grammy up at the Airport yesterday!

So....I guess I'm a bit yellow and the nurse told Mom and Dad to expose me to some sunlight for several minutes a day....well....I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with this!!! Grammy is holding me here in front of the patio doors and I'm loving it...soooooo warm!

And here's Mommy doing the same first thing this morning. I guess I'm living up to the "Leslie" in my name as Grampy has done this for years and years.....he calls it getting brown and beautiful and I agree....I've got the beautiful part down I think, so I'm working on the brown part here! Can't wait to lay with Grampy Leslie in front of the patio doors!!!!!

Finally, here I am with Grammy! Just spending some quality time playing with fingers.

So, that's it for now....life is GRAND!!!

Charlie Arrives!!!! Hello everyone! Here I am! Mommy has not yet been able to figure out all the alignment stuff on our blog yet...but, here are a few photos and comments to go along with them; hopefully you'll be able to figure out what's what!

Here is the first photo of our beautiful Baby Boy - Charles Leslie - born Aug 19th at 3:44pm. Weighing in at 8lbs. 6 ozs after only 5 short hours of labour....he's such a good boy!!!

Tummy Time with Conky.....I know, I know.....but he was the only toy within arms reach....thanks, Uncle Craig and Auntie Ali for sending Conky to Dad last Christmas!!

HI!
Here's my VERY Proud Daddy bringing me to my new home!

Nursery Photos! Just thought I would post a couple photos of baby's soon to be new room! We just hung the mobile this AM, so I think everything's in place. As you can see we went with a bit of a "bug" theme....I know, I know, "bugs"??? I'm hoping that looking at cute bugs will cure me of my "fears" as I have to be the brave Mom for our little one! David always reminds me when I freak out at a spider, hornet, beetle, etc. that I "can't act like that in front of our kids!" So....we'll see if this works.
On another note, we had our 38.5 week checkup at the Doctor yesterday and all is well! I've dropped about 2 cm since last week, baby's still head down and getting ready to come see us. The ultrasound tech last week told me
that baby was approx 7lbs. 10 oz; however, the doctor didn't get a weight report.....so.....I told him to please call and confirm that it's 7-10 and NOT 10-7!!! He and David just laughed and said "well, we wouldn't tell you the difference anyway, we want you to think he/she's only 7 lbs!!!" I wasn't as amused as they were!
It's getting very exciting around here now and only 9 days to go before the "official" due date.....so stay tuned........

Well....here it goes, my first attempt on my own at blogging!!! We'll see if I have my sister's good humour and talent. I just arrived back from Victoria. We went down yesterday and had a great time touring the beautiful city, then took Bev to the airport this AM to go back to NS. About 30 seconds before she left it hit me.....ahhhh....she's moving to Scotland! I'm not going to see her again for quite some time! WOW! She has been such an incredible help to David and I while she was here - we now feel ready for babaganush's arrival! THANKS BEV!!! Encouragement from such a great Mother of 4 beautiful children was just what we needed!!!! Sure would have been nice for her got get to meet him/her, but....I guess baby is waiting for Grammy to get here next week. Anyway, here are a couple of photos of us in Victoria with Mindy, Susan and Chantelle.

This is Bev and I last night after dinner down on the waterfront in beautiful Victoria, BC. You can see I ate way too much as my belly seems to be protruding from under my shirt...hee!hee! Anyway, this is our last photo taken together in Canada for awhile!!!!

So excited that I just set up my blog!
Bev is here and walked me through and here we are....
I was hoping to have baby pictures for my first post but Babaganoush isn't ready yet. Nevertheless, here is a recent photo of baby (at 38 weeks) which David took when I was cooking supper the other night. Actually, David cooked supper and I just picked up the spoon for the picture....Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy!
